Gunblast review of the Ruger 77/17HH - Hornady Hornet
Damn you fen. I had resisted the urge for a 17HH as I didn't want a savage but I've always wanted a little 77.
Oh well off to get another PTA.

Yeah I figured the Ruger would be the pick of the lot.

Gunblast review of the Ruger 77/17HH - Hornady Hornet
Just got off the phone to NIOA. Ruger is 9 months behind in production. NIOA has ordered some 77's in 17HH but they've been told 12+ months before delivery.
Disappointed but my wallet is happy.

bugger it, I'm going to get one
I'll go confuse my LGS staff ASAP by asking them to put an order in for one........and then see if they end up supplying me a HMR

nothing wrong with the 204. still the best dedicated varmint round IMHO. have mine set up for spotlighting, but the 17HH has a LOT of appeal as a light walkaround varminter, and nicely fills the gap between the rimfires & the bigger CF's that has only been filled before by getting a custom rifle. I did look at the 17FB, but that leans more to the 204 than the back the other way....
watching that vid, you had to look hard to notice the recoil, and it didn't make much noise either

LR how can you think there is something wrong with a 204? anyone wanting a factory rifle for varminting would be crazy not to have one on the shopping list. but you are allowed more than one gun. i also have a 17m 4 and would still like one of these
