Re: 20 PPC
Dan I am loading 27.5 grns of BM2 for 3900 fps. This is driving 40 grn V-max seated into the lands thgese seem to end up in tiny little clusters at 100 and not much larger at 300.I got with 3350 with 32`s in front of 2219 which was not a max load but the 40`s just make very good paddock pizza.
Please excuse the Wild Turkey typo`s

hi missed, you have one as well, are you happy, its just that in the back of my mind i have been thinking of a custom build up.i have relative that lives in town that sells pac,nor barrels and custom actions,so been thinking about a few different cals, the 20ppc seems to be gaining strong following and i can see by its performanceMISSED wrote:Dan I am loading 27.5 grns of BM2 for 3900 fps. This is driving 40 grn V-max seated into the lands thgese seem to end up in tiny little clusters at 100 and not much larger at 300.I got with 3350 with 32`s in front of 2219 which was not a max load but the 40`s just make very good paddock pizza.

Re: 20 PPC
Dan I love the 20PPC but I suppose I love the 220 Swift and 22-250.No or next to nil recoil very easy to load brass is exxcy but being Lapua should last well.Sighted in 1" high at 100 is no hold over or under to 300m. And works really well in a short action but it is a bugger to get to feed.I had a 204 and think it is a great cartridge but I bought a Sako L461 and the 204 will feed but with the Projie seated fairly deep. The 20 ppc was my cure for that action.

Re: 20 PPC
It is a game gun Trev!
The stock is one Shane sourced but it is not a Slee stock.
I did change it a bit, thinned the width of the forend down, reshaped the grip and just a clean up.
Dan I am using 40gr V-Max and 2207.
I am still fire forming so I have not used any full loads yet but the results have been good!

As missed said great brass easy to form and ridiculously accurate!
What more could you want.
Dan if you have access to custom actions do not hesitate mate!
Make sure it is single shot though, due to the feeding issue missed mentioned.

It is a Slee pattern. Procal were tselling them but they were getting them made by Slee for a while. Now have other sources.
Shane did mine too.
Very nice rifle!

Re: 20 PPC
Thanks Trev.
Yeah it is a ProCal design that Slee was making.
Shane did say who made it but I can't remember.
Sam you are right about that cause I have tried a lot and this one fits great!
I went the ambi thumbhole cause my nephew is cack handed
The other thing I did not notice until I started working on it was the fact that it is symmetrical due to being ambidextrous.
Does not look as lop sided as some thumbhole stocks!
It is a beautiful gun to shoot.
