Gidday guys, I see on my regular visits to Silverdale Range, an increasing popularity with the 204,---------- but I see here on this site that the 20 cal wildcats are kings. SO------------ if someone was to build a 20 cal---- which cal? OR ----- stick with a factory 204 ?
Cheers Malcolm

Don't have one, but have put some thinking into it, and if I do get one it will be a 20 Practical because it will feed perfectly out of a magazine designed for the 223 (including the plastic AI ones), it can use Lapua brass which is high quality and reasonably priced, its cheap to run, I can reload for it with my existing 223 bushing dies and a smaller bushing, and finally very close to the 204R in performance.

I think it is my turn Malcolm I just have to agree with Glen, Brass is very easy to form from 6/22 ppc by necking down or from 220 Russian by necking down and fire forming (fire forming loads are surprisingly accurate)Cases can also be formed from 7.62x39 Brass but you loose 2 grains of capacity and it has the Large rifle primer.Dies are easily available from Redding and did I mention how accurate the cartridge is.Mine is built on anL461 action that is a repeater but I grabbed a Score Hi single shot follower.I have yet to feel disadvantaged when multiple shots appear when spotlighting and it makes it easier to keep track of your cases.I must also mention how accurate the round is

If you are like Jason and have an existing rifle the above makes a lot of sense. But just so I can Gazump Trevort I would do Ausvarmints very own JAB 20.

20 AH
20 KB
20 VT
20 VTT
20 Terminator
20 Tac
20 Prac
20 PPC
20 Titan
20 BR
20x47
etc, etc

Pick the parent case or one that fits your bolt pace and then pick the wildcat. I am having a 20x47 built and considering a 20VT or 20VTT. The 20x47 will shoot 55gr pojies and the 20VT to cover the 33-35gr ones.

You OK Trevort? I (and I am sure others) have been waiting on your post in this thread singing the praises of the JAB20 (and praiseworthy it is).
