Can anyone tell me what these little actions are like to use and build on?

Adamjp has a couple of them Brad and from what I have seen they are a copy (sort of)of an early sako.

from reading I get the impression, relatively rough but functional and smooth up over time. Read Adam's 6 ppc report. wrong extractor!

The extractor issue is a simple assembly issue and was simple to rectify.
As MISSED said, they are like an early L461 Sako. The polish is good, but the internal finish is not as smooth. There are a few things you can do to make then quite slick in operation.
For the price they are a great way to build a 223 or PPC sized custom rig.
Another is the CZ527, but the clip magazine is not pretty, nor is the bolt handle.
Any specific questions, please ask.

Had to giggle when I read that bit. So are they selling left handed ones here? I can see a proper left handed 20 practical coming...

JasonF is your man there, but from what I gathered on Friday afternoon they are selling them.

There was some confusion from Tony at Beretta (the importer), but I have confirmation that they are definitely importing left hand M85's. They won't import an action only so stripping a full rifle is the only option for us lefties interest in building customs on this action.
I think there is a 222 still on the shelves at Qld Gun Exchange for about $750.

Well that's not fun then. Bloody discrimination against lefties. Maybe I will just stay with the right hander when I get around to it.

Buy the second hand leftie that Missed posted above Brad - once you flog off the barrel and scope it will be a fairly cheap donor.

Can you guys post pics of yours- maybe the action up close? Im unsure of what I want yet. I have the tikka LSA55 action currently. Its working well but I want another magazine for it as 3 shots is a bit average for me. The mags are too hard to find and i was thinking of doing either a T3 action or the M85. Left handed appealed to me, even though I have always shot RH rifles. With a new barrel coming, it kind of makes sense to do it all as one, not thread for the tikka, then lose the mag then have a useless repeating rifle.
