The Budget Boomer or 358 Stinker as I call it got a good run again this weekend up at Seaham. First time really off the bench and still fire forming loads.

I buggered up and moved the scope to the right thinking another hole was my first shot. Anyway the 3 on the fox to the right were pretty neat to form up and moved them back to centre. Dad and Bimbo had a boom as well :D.

I also tried them at 200m to check for drop. I shot all of these at 4x to get a little more eye relief  except for my 3rd shot at 200m which was on 9x so looks like it does move things perhaps. Anyway for a medium bore looks to easily shoot sub MOA at both 100m and 200m. Looking at the POI at 100 is close to 1.5 inches and drop at 200 is only 2 or less so these are moving along at around 2800 I think will check a few more numbers out but that's moving.

These fireform loads are barely kissing the lands with 47gr of 8208 behind a 200gr ftx. Going to grab a new recoil pad and add some lead to the stock. Freehand is no issue but the front end likes to jump around a little too much. It was always meant to be on the cheap. A B&C Stock would be nice but will mod this for now.

It shoots pretty well, it kicks but isnt what id call unpleasant off bench. The trigger is pretty heavy but breaks pretty clean and with a bit more weight in the stock it would be even nicer off the bench, off the shoulder it would be fine as it is.

Thanks Dave. Just ordered a neck die so i can load em up formed now. Almost 10gr more capacity than a swede case so should be fun

Yeah the swede is a good candidate for being improved as it has quite a lot of taper in the original case.
