Re: Nearly there
Relaxing with a beer after a top weekend away. Finally got to shoot my 260ai after months of waiting. Now have 50 cases formed . Werribee basically gave me the scope, a hakko tactical with the clicky windy turrets. Wasn’t the scope I had planned for the rifle but I wanted clicky windy and you should never look a gift horse in the mouth. Boresighted and damn impressed that first shot was on paper at a hundred and only two more to dial in. Set the zero. Fired three more (as I had 50 cases to fireform) with the magneto speed on to get the velocity, turned on the ballistics app and got the figures, dialled up and whack on the four hundred metre gong. Let a few of the other blokes have go and whack whack whack.check the app and dial
Up to the 500. And we all go whack again. Same thing for the 600. 2 misses. Mark spots for me and elevation is perfect but the wind is getting me out there. Three clicks. Whack whack whack. It just hits no matter who is pulling the trigger.
Dial back to zero. I do the driving with the young blokes on the back that night and then to bed after refreshments.
Get up this morning. No wind. 11 of the 50 cases still need to be formed. Dial back up and miss the 400 twice. Hold on here. It was windy yesterday. Now what way was that wind coming. Hold half a gong off and whack. Two clicks. Miss one more. Whack. Hmm three clicks yesterday in the wind. Someone brighter might have wound off the three clicks without wind right away but I never pretended to be smart. But anyway. Dial up to 500 and whack whack. Whiskey Wombat comes out of the shearing shed and hasn’t fired it yet . Three rounds left. He misses. The wind has started again. Aim
On the left hand edge of the target. Whack whack. I love that sound.
Apparently this clicky windy dialling in shit has been going on for ages. Why have none of you blokes told me about this before?

Would you have listened?
Glad it's a shooter after the initial buggering around.
Cheers

Ummmm he’s right. The next node is achievable.Tony Z wrote:You beat me to it on the "needsmoor" Trev.
Good choice Trev. T3 action with long mag to seat the bullets waaay out. Looking forward to seeing some results. You need some Reloder 26. Trust me, you really really need that powder. High speed, low pressure, no brainer.

You can keep your airport beer and the 3rd world shithole you’re travelling to. I’m going shooting with Jacko tomorrow and Mick on Monday Tuesday Wednesday.trevort wrote:Went to turn the cases.
