How did you get the pill out? a gunsmith or did you do it yourself?
Never come across that problem before.
Is it ok to use a cleaning rod to push that pill out mate?

Cheers

Geoff
Mate,

I tapped it out myself from the muzzel end with great care. The cleaning rods female end centred nicley over the pointy end of the pill. I had another bloke hold the rifle down while I tapped the end with a rubber mallet. I had to reverse the pill out about 2 inches.

Cheers
Nick S

G'day HB,
V-Max is a Hornady trade mark as far as I know, I'm told ammo manufacturers buy them from hornady and load them, just like you can get a Nosler partitions in Winchester ammo, or Speer Grand Slams in a few different brands (from memory?). Obviously the tips colours are produced for each company to differentiate them. I do put some credit the rumour that there are only two factories producing HMR ammo, simply changing the headstamp, tip colour, and perhaps powder blend for the different brands.
Nice save Little17HMR!

little 17hmr, that is similar to the technique trevort and i used to remove the projectile that got stuck in the lands of his 6-250. It just needed a gentle tap with the palm of the hand though. But with a custom rifle of the quality that gun is damn were we being careful.

If Glenn Asher is still lurking about he can confirm this. I know that all the 17gn plastic tip projies are Hornady Vmaxes.
