Re: Roessler Titan 16
First hunted pest with the titan. Did the job well but the 120gr soft points way too much for a feral dog. Amax here i come.

Re: Roessler Titan 16
How's the roessler going 1 year on? Considering a Titan 6 in 3006 or 7x64 ATM. Has a lovely stock which first got me interested (luxury model) and seems very interesting from what I've read

Re: Roessler Titan 16
Goodly on the most part.
Havent shot it a great deal in the paddock but put a bit of range time in on it.
Would not buy the titan 16 again. Its a pain undoing the screw that holds the bolt handle to the bolt. Scared im going to get a case jammed and not be able to extract bolt.
At the range i have been using berger 130 gr hunting and 120 target bt. They both shoot 0.67 moa 5 shot groups. Havent tried em on the ferals yet.
Shot one wild dog witha sierra 120gr soft point but it went straight through.
Absolutely would buy another titan, just not a 16.

Re: Roessler Titan 16
For soft skinned game go some 95vmax or nosler 100gr bts. The noslers explode crows and will pull up pigs and foxes drop where they are hit. I believe the 120 round nose is a pretty stout pill.

Re: Roessler Titan 16
Anyone read the SSAA article on the roesller 16. Sounded like they were so happy to have a rifle to review that they didn't care that much about giving it a full look over.
Got the new rifle yet hermtrails?

Re: Roessler Titan 16
Sorry mate, hadn't been on for a while.
Roessler Titan 6 luxury 7x64
I got the rifle and am very happy with it overall. I picked it up on the way to a deer hunt with some hand loads I put together with a mild load to be safe.
I'm very pleased with the trigger and won't bother touching that. I find that unless I cycle the bolt with some momentum that the bolt is hard to close. It seems if I cycle it as you would when not worrying about sound it's no problem though. So if I was trying to chamber a round on a stalk I would need to push forward and down at the same time to close the bolt. It doesn't really bother me at this stage because it does work well when cycled in a fluid motion.
I cannot comment on accuracy yet as I've put 15 rounds through only and haven't done load development.
I sighted in with 7 shots and then shot a fallow Buck at 193m with it for my 8th shot though.
The stock on mine is amazing, I'm very happy with it!
The scope mounts that come with it are ok but not finished that nicely compared to the rest of the rifle. I actually had to grind a little of the front and back to mount my khales is 3-10x50 in low rings. I will probably grab some slimmer mounts with a little more mounting length in them. Currently my scope has no room to go forwards or back but thankfully is in the perfect spot anyway.
The finish on the rifle is very nice. The only gripe I have is the plastic trigger guard lets it down a little when compared to rest of it. I'm not concerned about the durability of it though having said that.
The recoil of seems quite good even though very slim.,7x64 is the largest cartridge I've shot more than a couple of shots through and I find it to kick only marginally more than my tikka 6.5x55 with limbsaver.
I won't be doing load development for at least 1 1/2 months as harvest starts tomorrow but I'll try to do an update then if I remember

Good update and yes that does have a nice bit of kindling for a handle. Wonder what it would look like if the wood whisperer had it for a while!

That is some very nice looking timber there.
I agree with Trevor, the wood-whisperer could make that magical.

Re: Roessler Titan 16
Hi Guys.
Haven't done a lot of shooting lately.
Built a dining table with Dad. Took about 18 months.
Wood is blue gum. To the Roessler.
After trying a few things on cats and foxes and watching them walk away with holes all the way through them instead of killing them on the spot I decided a change of direction was needed. So went the LGS and said I needed something that would actually come apart.
I am now using Speer 90 gr TNT.
Holy geez they shoot well (and HOT )
They shoot, 5 shot groups of less the 1 inch. Was adjusting the scope a bit. And I was as twitchy as hell for some reason Friday arvo.
At the range on Friday arvo a very kind fellow shooter allowed me to through a few shots past his https://buymylabradar.com.
That device is seriously cool.
The shots were a staggering 3317, 3310, 3333, 3320 and 3325. (fps)
WOW thats heaps more sliuppery than i ever would have thought.
Cant wait to get these to connect with a few ferals.
Cheers John.
