True flite ultra match grade stainless in 20 cal 1:12 twist. Its finished at 25 inches. Like a mirror down the bore- just as good as the lilja I have on the 22BR, and less copper fouling during the run in.

Very nice, very very nice...

How much does it weigh, that barrel looks bigger than I was expecting.

Oh yes I love that rifle.

You can post a picture of that on the forum anytime Brad.

Maybe we need to revive a thread on showing off our varmint rifles!

Havent weighed it yet... never thought to. The barrel is only a #4 profile but with the smaller hole in it, I guess it will look bigger in diameter.

Very nice Brad! Looks very nice and obviously has a bit of snot! Where did you get the work done?? I now have one centrefire and have the bug after smacking my first fox last night at about 250m. Couldn't get the brag photo but the pop of a pill hitting home was heard even with the earplugs in! Too much stubble to find him. Next is a reloading kit(already shot 70 rounds!) and then I reckon there might be a 2nd centrefire(and another safe :| ) coming home. Like the sound of the practical and the reports about them. Also good little dedicated fox/varmint gun.

You guys hinted these things are addictive and now I see what you are talking about!! Just one is not enough!!. Already have a dealer or 2 keeping eyes out for potential rifles suitable for a rebarrel.

Hi Brad,

I am having a debate with myself on whether to build a 204R, 20 Practical or 20 Tactical on a sako action. What made you pick the practical over the other 20-cals?

Also would you happen to know where your gunsmith bought the reamer from?

Cheers

And to add to the post above, how did you go getting dies etc for it? Thinking about a 20 prac or a 223AI not sure which way to go yet....

I am not sure if 20 Prac dies are available as such, except for modifying a standard S Type 223 die.

I found this on youtube, and I was going to do that.

(I think I might start another thread so this one isn't derailed  )

edit - Any chance you could explain how you make your rounds as well Brad?

If it were me I'd just go the 204, I really couldn't be bothered stuffing around fireforming cases or buying hard to find expensive dies etc etc.

kjd, totally agree if im shooting heaps id go a stock 223 or 204, but seen as i dont shoot nearly as much as i like i dont mind spending the time doing it. Although could just buy bucket loads of cheap 223 ammo and just go plinking i guess too
