Rifle is back from the 'smith - now as a 260 Ackley.
Scope has been mounted using the Burris XTR rings and added 15 MOA inserts.

60 rounds loaded up for fireforming and initial gong ringing ready.
Using Lapua .308 brass FL sized in 260 Rem, 2209 and 130gn Copperhead hybrid pills.

Second barrel has arrived, the muzzle brake as well - will get it sorted as a switch barrel when the time and inclination match the available fornication's to be given.

The Tikka showed lots of promise on the Buchan trip, fireforming loads were pretty accurate, for a "plucked" load.

The rifle got its first kills, bunnies and a nice lil deer. Will start a write up, but @trevort will need to provide some context as to the final moments of the walk out.....

And, I think I am going to have fun with these too...

So the brass is all fireformed now, necks have been turned to a uniform thickness. Thanks trevort

The trigger though.
A bloody two stage. Yes I can and do shoot reasonably well with them not only at work, but also with Target Rifle shooting.

But, i dont particularly like them.

So, out with the Tac A1 trigger, and in with a kickinback trigger.

Image

Not only is the Tac trigger a two stage, it also has the ability to open the bolt whilst the rifle is cocked with the safety on.
The extra piece to the safety can been seen:

I am sure I could transfer the extra bits across, but cant really be stuffed right now.

Function check completed, safety works as it should, and trigger adjusted.

Now to load up a ladder test and shoot it to determine a working load.

Then do it all again with the 6mm S/LR.
