Re: Budget Large Wildcat Varminter
Thanks for the offer Mick. I have ordered 1 inch rings.....I can prob change the order ... hmm or order both..mick_762 wrote:30mm or 1 inch rings?
Again a very generous offer! I will have a think there are plenty of 30 mm low power scopes around.
Nikon do a monarch that looks good but it is 1 inch.

Re: Budget Large Wildcat Varminter
Not sure the green show's through but its definitely nicer to handle than the usual Blue/Grey ghost stock. barrel is just under 21 inches. Cases feed nicely and fit easily. Rings on the way. Think it should have been the 358 SFSM - Short Fat Stinki Magnum
. Now to neck up 20 cases to begin with. Scope wise I am after an low powered scope, 1- 4 or fixed 2 x etc Maybe an old weaver k 2.5 or if anyone has anything cheap they don't need?? Mick has offered up a good scope to borrow but its 30mm so need an 1 inch tuber.

Got to say stinkitup, I've been following your progress with interest.
It should be a very interesting cartridge.
Can't wait to see what it will do.

Thanks Teepee and Seddo for the interest. It should match or better the whelen which will be good. Not bad pushing a 200 grainer at same or better than a standard swede will push 140s. Even the AI swede will push 140s to 2900 or so but this might do it with 180s so those ACP proj should make a mess of almost everything.

Well, that came up nicely Ryan, good job mate. There is certainly enough room in the magazine from those longer projectiles. Will be interesting to see a composite group of all the different weights and style of projectiles. Its a bugger having to wait for bits and pieces to turn up.
Oh, you haven't got enough junk in the shed mate, I can still see empty space there.![Twisted Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)

Yes well waiting is okay as am too damn busy anyway so slowly putting it together but once the rings are here I think I will be stealing a scope to put on itCamel wrote:Well, that came up nicely Ryan, good job mate. Should be fun with around 3500 ft-lb at the muzzle and over 2000 still at 200 m with 225's
![Cool 8)](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)
Yes heaps of room in the mag box, those 225 accubonds are long, about as long as a 6.5 140 so heaps of room. Ted Mitchel has sent me a mixed bag of projectiles to play with, plenty of 200 interbonds and flex tips so will use these for fire forming.
Enough room everyone who come around is envious about my garage ... it is great, under the house about 11 x 11 but narrows at the entrance to 8 m I always say it should have been bigger

Re: Budget Large Wildcat Varminter
Only Minor, couldn't fit the 2-7 I swapped off my swede as the mag ring touched on the bottom of the rings so put the old 3-9 on for the moment. The dead nutz rings do look good and nice and simple so will find something to suit. Maybe just a newer 3-9, it should be fine for chasing deer or piggies on the run at 3x.
Tickled the trigger a little tonight so slowly getting there.
Need some 2208 now and bobs your uncle.
