Started out with the 204 Kimber 84, found I liked the calibre but didn't like the way i couldn't see the target after firing...........so
I then bought a sako 85 varmint in 204 (a little bit heavier) but found I still couldn't see the target after firing ........so then
I thought what to do with the Kimber ...........so
I then had it rechambered into the 20 practical, found it a lot better but still couldn't see the target after firing .........so after a lot of research
I have sent that away to get re barreled into the 20 vartarg which according to many is the bees knees. What say you missed!!!
But in between all of the above I decided I needed something bigger .........so
I had a 20-250 built.
I have shot 40g Bergers at around 4200 with very good accuracy, 50g Bergers at around 3900 with also very good accuracy and 55g at around 3700. Only had a few of them to try but I reckon I could get them to group better if I had enough to do more testing. I don't want to wear out the brl so have settled on the 50g Berger which is zero'd at 300y and is around 8.5" low at 400.
To say that I am happy with the 20 cal would be an understatement - me thinks.!!!!!!

It is very interesting that most started with a 204 then ramped it up to a different version.
It is also interesting that we immediately want another.
Lots to think about. I really want better brass in my next one.Lapua beckons. Funny years ago I told myself don't run any chambering you can't get Lapua for and now I have a 204 on Nosler, a 7mm mag on RWS a 280AI on RWS and a 300 win that will need something new as the last of my Lapua has died off.

Its the off the shelf way in and then when you find what 20 cals can do you become hooked. I bought a 223 for some dumb reason. Used it a fair bit when I sold my factory 204 and the custom ended up another year later! Soon as I had my 204 back the 223 was redundant until one day Clancy asked me if I was interested in a shilen 20 cal barrel he had!

I wanted a Tac 20, the JAB eventuated because he didnt have that reamer and I was too tight to get one

Might end up a switch 17 Rem Fireball just a set back and re chamber and a 20 Vartag.
