I handled it and the stock isn't ambidextrous. I asked about a lefty version and they said they had lots of questions on that AND will consider it.

As for pricing, there is no specific figure but the aim (reportedly) is to get it around the 1K mark. Not bad when you look at how well made the rifle is.

Any timeframe on the centrefires? Also will the CF rifles be based on one action length? Oh questions, so many questions! The 1k mark for a rimfire? Hmmm would want to shoot like stink but it does look bloody nice! I reckon as long as it shoots well that would be a good exporter too.

I would love to see a pump action similar to the old Sportco model 90, shorter 20" barrel. In 22 rf & 22 mag,

The new SAF rimfire rifle.

That is one big mofo bolt and locking lugs.

This thing is built like a lumberjack, and the bolt has three spiral locking lugs at the rear. The bolt is very heavy, as is the action. The stock feels quite solid, and not unlike a Pro Hunter or Pro Varmint stock. The finish is a very flat kind of satin, not shiny as in the pics we have seen online. One rifle was Cerakoted and the other was stainless. Bolt lift was low so the scope can be mounted low, and the bolt knob and endpiece is some sort of hard, matte black polymer. Old mate said these would be "under 1k". And they were giving away free hats. :D

That's VERY nice! Looks even better in your pics Fenring! Haha when they say under 1k I bet that means $999 haha. But VERY nice, what did it feel like? Any comparisons to other brands? Personally cannot wait to see a group from it!

It reminded me a lot, weight and balance wise, of a CZ Varmint. The stock is hand filling. Dunno what the trigger is like but it's adjustable I'm told. Some dickhead dry snapped it a couple of times - I wanted to dry snap him... Apparently they will use CZ mags. The safety as you can see is small, it has very limited travel but felt better than the arse about CZ safety. The bolt lift is low - no hoisting scopes up on this rig.

As you can see the bolt is large - felt more like the bolt from a .223 or similar. Very strongly made.

So you reckon that this rifle feels like a $770 CZ(just got a price of clayton firearms website) well if it shoots the same I would pay a 100 or so more considering its Aussie made. Funny thing is it looks like a centrefire. And the bolt looks like it could be from a CF!

Due to the similar barrel weight and length it hefts and balances like a CZ Varmint. The similarities end there, apart from it using Cz mags so I am told. Now if it was made to use Ruger mags it would be truly awesome.

Is that a sporter or varmint model? If its over-engineered, heavy and under $1k, it may well flop on its arse. Third World guns are also heavy and over-engineered when they attempt upmarket models.

But if its over-engineered and heavy for inclusion as a 17WSM rimfire, it could be interesting.

That's the only model they have on their website and on display.

Noodle arms might not like it.

I didn't notice anything about the stock that DIDN'T make it ambidextrous. :?:

Never saw a cheekpiece or palm swell.

I'm told it's a varmint model. Not sure if they plan a sporter version.

I think it's your later guess. It's clearly not targetted, aimed (no pun intended) at plinking.

Agreed, it was symmetrical enough for the bolt to support either side (if relieved).
