Life for this rifle had been a rather interesting journey, started out as a new Zastava 223 with a plastics stock, didn’t get shot and had the factory barrel removed and replaced with a Lila heavy barrel in 17/222. Ned Kelly made me a very nice stock to my dimensions,I really liked it in that configuration, but the itch to try something else, saw me sell off the 17 barrel and brass and swap my 22Ppc barrel rechambered in another so called obsolete clambering...222Rem. Yeah, boring I know

I had made up some test loads a few months ago, 50gn Zmax projectiles, AR2207 powder, Lapua match brass and Rem 7 1/2 primers. First load of 20.5gn had me a little worried,

But as the speed increased, the groups shrunk nicely,

Until the final shot on the top load

I got all excited and blew my load on the last shot

I’ll give the 21.5 load another run, but I think it will be where I end up.
I am going to like this one. Conditions today were magic, sunny, warm, no wind, until.....I had set everything up

I am happy tonight.
