Cz 527 223

Post by matang »

Have a a CZ 223 in safe for years dont use it much. Had the bolt machined down to get scope lower and the trigger adjusted by LGS. Its always shot good for the sporter barrel.
Decided to get a mini-thumbhole of Hatchers to try but most likely sell it. Finished the stock with Organoil and sealed it filling pours nicely. Would really shine if I continue rubbing oil in but its fine for now. Got the LGS to pillar Bed it grabbed some OSA factory 55 grn ammo and the first group shot was this.

Now not sure if I will sell it. Wish I hadnt of shot it and just sold it ha ha

Also sold my 204R Pierce with the nice sako 75 timber stock than brought to back of my brother than decided the pretty stock just didn't suit me and sold it. Then had Ned Kelly set to make another nice timber stock but changed mind when Crackers said I could have his other piece of laminate. Should have it finished tomorrow arvo. Wait to you see how bright it is
Now might sell it and get a timber stock from Hatchers and finish it myself but also have an eye on a Manners EH-3. Also my LGS said he would make me a nice timber stock out of some blackwood that he has had stored for 10 years in a copy of the hogue varmint stock.
I know Im confused as well.
Crackers must sigh everytime I ring with my new plan

Your right. Its no fun having a boring 223 that shoots bug holes with factory ammo. Much more fun spending money on custom barrels and actions and trying different loads to get them shooting bug holes. :?

Thats for Sure. Not sure if it will grow on me or not.
Geoff has done an amazing job of the stock matching the different laminates.
The only reason I will be selling it is if the shape wont suitthe purpose I want from it. Ie A walking fox shooting rifle of a bipod.
It would be a great stock for a heavy barrel varmint rifle.
To be fair I have not even shot the rifle qith the stock

As boring as the 223 might be, I reckon it's performing pretty well with the OSA ammunition. Like the stock too.

I'm very happy with my cz527 223 and OSA ammo performance as well.
