Hey Trevort,
that's a bonus great news re: easier cleaning. I don't mind it, but not as much fun as the using bit.
I get the feeling, no matter blued or SS for me, either would group better than my old eyes and wonky use would do.
My first foray into SS barrels, so interesting to see the differences. As long as it's as accurate as the blued, all is good.
Cheers

Hey Seddo,
good cross coverage of the stickers there.
You've got it covered well.
Awesome to be picking up one of the last model (assuming new)?

Its the last one unless there is a miracle, no more utes after this year. I had plans to keep the current ute (2014 VF SSV) for a long time but that ended when i picked up the ute from a service and heard what the exhaust sounded like on the VFII, i think i lasted 3 weeks before i put down the deposit on a VFII SSV Redline Manual Ute. That was back in the middle of feb, the estimated delivery date to the dealer is the end of next week and then they said it will take almsot a week to get the extras i ordered added to it. The surprise through the whole process was that holdne were only makign mual cars/utes to order, i would have though there would me more people going that way given what the car is made for.crows2332 wrote:Awesome to be picking up one of the last model (assuming new)?
I think drivers are becoming soft, even my wife liked driving the VE with its 6 speed gear box. I must admit she isnt a fan of the M21, she had some not so nice things to say about the 4 spd.

I'm still hoping for that miracle as well. Fingers crossed someone pulls their finger out of their date and makes that happen! I've only ever owned and driven Holdens from my first car to current car. I was gutted when I heard the news. I guess that was karma for my thoughts on ford shutting up shop at the time!
I can't help but keep smiling and the word awesome keeps popping out when hearing of your pending pick up, (not rifle), but the ute. Wished I was in the position to grab one last one also. Not sure if I'd drive it regularly or moth ball it, like a club car!
I think great things about the latest, like they went all out in a way with it being the last (still hope not), bugger the fuel economy, stuff the greenies, lets make it like we want to drive it (well that's how it read in one article I was reading).
Really, am surprised re: the limited manual also. Times have changed, since the Auto used to be the one on order back yonder.
I'm still frustrated at giving way to a HQ Monaro LS & 82 WB styleside for the girlfriend pending into the wife, in 1995. Went for nothing then too.
keep up the good SS tradition. I guess I'll only be there in SS for the barrel! Since my commodore is only an S.
Doh!
Cheers for your input.

My first car wasnt a Holden but from them on they all were until I bought the jeep last year. Now that they are gone I have no idea what I will do next time. I won't be selling the new ute, after its finished being my work car I'll keep it and look at something else. Hopefully there is another good option by then.
My VH is a SL, 4.2 4spd with a few mods. There is only going to be 1 SS in my house.

Only took a little bit until you caught the bug from early on. Or did one happen to be in the right place at the right time, was time to change cars, so you picked it up and stayed the course since?
I think I know that feeling re: what to do next. Quite the dilemma! Fingers crossed the ones we have or you will have, can last the ages. yep, maybe some Chinese Squintillionaire, who buys one of the states here in Australia has a drive in an old holden, falls in love and puts half his Squintillions into kicking the Holden Factory in Elizabeth off again! Maybe GM will give the rights to the name back too!

I wanted a commodore from day 1, it's just I got offered a super cheap car that I couldn't say no to. After 18 months I had stuffed it and jumped into a VN.
I hope they bring in a camaro or firebird.

haha, and when you're young, have licence, it's about getting a car full stop and getting out there driving. Totally understand that. Hard to knock back the good deals along the way.
yep, if there's no more commodore, then we'll definitely need another 8 to take over, and the Camaro would be great. Wonder if any more Vettes will start to get around also?
