Only one observation. There would, on face value, seem to be bugger all difference between the two 222 cased cartridges . Was there anything other than the perfectly acceptable 'I want ' behind the selection?

Re: Terrible Triplets and Big Brother
Nope, the "I want factor" has been pretty big on this one, ever since I sold my last one.
I did think of doing a 22 cal based on the 222 case, but didn't think it would be any good.

Re: Terrible Triplets and Big Brother
Question re your stocks Camel. Are they featherweight stocks? Do you think they would be okay for a lightweight hunting walk/stalk type rifle or would a more traditional non thumbhole stock be more suitable?
I am tossing up which stock for the 358 swede and am aware recoil in the field is usually not so much the issue. Plus I have more options in thumbholes as far colour goes.

Re: Terrible Triplets and Big Brother
Personal opinion (but only after carrying a thumbhole on a couple of occasions) is that for a walk about rifle I'd prefer a conventional stock. Others opinions may vary and it may depend on what type of country and shot opportunities are likely to arise?stinkitup wrote: Do you think they would be okay for a lightweight hunting walk/stalk type rifle or would a more traditional non thumbhole stock be more suitable?

Re: Terrible Triplets and Big Brother
Ryan, as Waldo indicated I would have a traditional type stock for hunting rifles. My 7-08, 308 and 338/06 are all normal stocks, I think they are better for stalking. The smaller M85 actions stocks are what I think they call, "sporter", they don't do a varmint stock for this action, although I have emailed them and asked if they would, I haven't had a reply to the several I have sent. They are just a little narrow and short on the fore end.

I'm very very sorry, it wont happen again,
Like this 22xLap will almost be a clone copy of my 6/250 I wonder if a few hundred fps and 15gn lighter bullet will make it substantially different?
