20VT target

Post by Ackley Improved »

I was going through my book of targets/loading data and came across this one. That 20VT round sure is impressive. Pity it didn't just pop under 1" at the 300m mark, but a 18.5 grains of powder sure is impressive all the way out there!

I may end up putting together a 20cal soon, waiting on a donor rifle to show up, wont be a 20VT, most likely a 20/222.

Cheers

Nothing wrong with that target AI ! Did you try some other brand of Projies ?.

Was that with your Cooper all those years (rifles) ago

That wasn't the Cooper, it was a rifle I regret selling :( . It was the reminton XR100 with the Lilja barrel. I shot that rifle in a 100/200 BR match at Wagga. Shot in both LG and HG so 20 targets. Average group size for the whole match was 0.6". Course BR rifles are halving that, but still I found it impressive!

I shot Nosler 32, 32Vmas, 32 Blitzkings and also the 39 Blitzkings. From memory the most consistent projectile was the 32 Blitzkings.

Who has a Sako 85 varmint in 222/223 they want to sell to me cheap HA!

I remember that rifle. You practically stole it. Should never have let it go!

Yes, stole it and you are able to call me a fuckwit for selling it. The Cooper 20vt didn't worry me selling, hindsight this one should have stayed!
