Thanks for your input fellas, definately leaning towards .223, the WSSM was attractive but hey, Ill end up with something I want and something that will be serviceable for years to come. I was almost gonna get another 22-250, as I have brass, dies etc but wanted somethin a little less 'pokey' as a few of the properties I shoot on are 100ac and upwards. So sold! A .223, synthetic stock so I wont get upset when I ding it, and leaning towards the Howa.

Mate if the use butler creek stocks for their rifles forget it. I know they are very similar to the Vanguard as the Vanguards are made in the Howa factory at Japan but my mate has a vanguard in 30-06 and the stock is a piece of shit.

I'd go an SPS who's stock is much better considering the price.
