i would have thaught the vid spoke for itself.
how could a barrel as bad as the first shoot any good ?
like the guy said,the fouling would be a major factor in its performance as well as the poorly make of it.
i know nothing,but i do know which i would choose - out of the 2

How it shoots for the purpose. IT's about Accuracy v Cost.

1in group @ 100m is plenty good enough for a stalking rifle. I can't hold that good in a field position.

Not good enough for a long range varmiter though where I can get setup with a bipod and/or bag.

I'll be the first to admit I notice the improved accuracy and cleaning of the hand lapped barrels, but I own more factory barrels that probably look like the Remington one inside (but they have copper and powder foulding).

I'm ever so slightly concerned that my $150 Adams and Bennett will outshoot a $700 match grade barrel in my possession. But to be fair ... the A&B is eating CopperHead's where the match barrel is still running Norma factory loads for fireforming purposes.

I've seen REM barrells that could have grown potatoes in the pock marks and divets in the barrell and for all intents and purposes SHOULD never have shot well........ But guess what, A Remington 700 VS, 14 years old grouped 3/8 inch with factory Federal GMM and 1/4 inch with Norma Diamond. I won't go into what it shot with researched hand loads as you won't believe me.

Sure, the Select Match Barrells are second to none and most of my guns have SMB Shilen's screwed on but do not judge a book by it's cover.
