Is 6.5x to much?

Post by Buffy »

Well it looks like i have secured a nice rifle get me back in the swing of things.... managed to score Rinso's beautiful 25/06.... now im looking at some glass for it...

Rinso has a nice loopy 6.5-20 VX3 that i think would complement it nicely......but im wondering if 6.5x is to much for a walk around/varminting/everything rifle.... my original plan was to put 4-16 power on it but im just not sure.....i dont think i will have pigs bursting out from under my feet like i did when i was in the territory, so 6.5 may just do the trick....

post up your opinions so i can get some idea from you blokes that are more experienced with the hunting down south...

buffbuster 6.5 will be fine in my opinion, unless they are right under your feet, and the 6.5/20 leupold is a nice scope. :D

I agree with mistit,6.5-20 for 25-06 would be well suited BB.

for varminting, yes. What are you gonna use it for most. If its hunting get onto cameraland's site and get one of the unbeatable vortex deals in a lower magnification

Thanks for the replies guys, as i said it will be used for everything.....i hope to be doing more longer range stuff with it, id'e like to do some goat shooting and smaller stuff like rabbits and foxes under light... when it comes to stalking deer and pigs im guessing it should be ok as when stalking the shot will be a deliberate one mor that a rushed snap shot.....
