I do occasionally wish I still had a 14tw 22-250 barrel to screw on. Might have to order a 14tw 224 barrel krieger when I order another 20 cal krieger tomorrow. Eeek wallet is burning!

It overtakes it, but I cant buy factory ammo. Plus the 10 twist barrel skins anything under 55gr- and even the 55grSBK's are coming apart- copper everywhere in the barrel near the crown, but not so when I run heavier pills.

Now thats the quote of the week. Buy a match grade barrel and have it fitted and chambered so you can fire FACTORY AMMO

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you meant "factory brass""

G'day Andries,

The 22-250 is a sensational choice of caliber and will dispatch almost anything in this country with correct shot placement and the right projectile.

I recently developed a load for the father in law that was shooting under the inch at 100 utilising 55 grn V-Max's through a stainless Remington (VLSS). Muzzle velocities were consistent and thereabouts of 3800 fps.

It is also a very, very accurate caliber and was used if I recall correctly in its early days as a BR caliber. A few years before he passed away my grandfather gave me a ZKK 601 fitted with a 1 in 9 Tobler barrel. For a lightweight hunting outfit I could just as well have it re-stocked and use it in BR.

I also believe there has since been released by Lapua small primer brass-which may alter the dynamics and enhance the over-all performance of this magnificent caliber.

If I were to choose two calibers it would be the .308 and the 22-250.

Regards

Sean
