Try clearing your cookies bloke. Mine does the same on a regular basis :x

Depending on your browser ...
Tools - Options - General - Clear Cookies

I run Firefox 3 on WinXP

If I clear all the cookies for ausvarmint.com and ausvarmint.kjd84.com
close browser and then open browser, if I login, then everything is OK while surfing the site.
If I then close the windows or browser and open up an ausvarmint bookmark. I have to login again!!!
ausvarmint.com is not saving any permanent cookies for login, only while the session is active will using bookmarks or viewing links work.

would like to know what to do now as it does bug me.

edit: just tried the following link as well and still does not work:
http://ausvarmint.kjd84.com/forum/ucp.p ... te_cookies" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Gday mate, I fixed my error by basically doing what you did. I think where I was getting stuck was I was bookmarking the wrong place...maybe????

I cleared cookies and cache (ALL of them not just for this site)
Restarted FF
Went to forum index page - http://www.ausvarmint.kjd84.com/forum" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Entered username and password
Clicked Keep Logged In checkbox
Click Login
Then waited until it finishes redirecting you to the main forum index page. (Takes a little while 10 secs or so)
Bookmark link which hopefully looks like -

Code: Select all

http://www.ausvarmint.kjd84.com/forum/index.php?sid=blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah
blahblahblahblah is just a hole heap of numbers and letters.

Seems to have worked for me. I just visit the site thru the bookmarked link.

I have still got issues with logging in and saving my status as always logged in.

I have found that it is the website itself.

It keeps adding sid=blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah to end of the URL and this is a SessionID... basically this is not a cookie.
Even thought the cookie is saved and verified, the SID changes every time you start fresh with an new open browser and goto server - and I have to login again! and again and again.

I cannot use my saved bookmarks as I have to keep logging in for every page I use from bookmarks - unless I login first.
Mozilla Firefox allows you to open all links in a bookmark folder hence why nearly all books fail for me. becaiue I need to login site 1st... and this does not always work due to the stupid SID=blahblahblah changing!

Note I have removed the ?sid=blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah from my bookmarks so It should work... but it does not!

Mate you have me baffled! I login from my vista ff3 machine and it works and I can log in from my iPhone and it remembers me on both! Maybe ff3 is being a bitch and needs a reinstall or your cookie settings are buggered?? Dunno mate it's weird but seems to be firefox that has the issues though I don't have them

Why do you get rid of the SSD info from the bookmark?

I keep it and it works for me :?

I have deleted my Cookies and tried many combinations of logging in.

I hate IE and use Firefox on both Mac and PC.
It works fine on Mac.
I have 2 PC's, Laptop with Firefox Portable, the other with normal Firefox. Portable is a version that runs self contained and can be moved from computer to computer by copying the folder to USB drive etc... very cool! especially with a Mail Application.
Does not work with either versions on PC's.

SID stores the session ID. if you login then the SID stored in the cookie is differnet to the SID in the bookmark - making you not logged in when you launch bookmark.
