Had a bit of a discussion with some blokes at Missathon, going with January date again and really the only viable weekends are 9/10 or 16/17 or we will be clashing with long weekends.
9/10 looks like the favourite at this stage. Hopefully the weather is a bit more co-operative than last year
Pretty much the same deal as last year only hopefully we catch a few trout.
Hut now has a front wall, enough room for a dozen or so swags BBQ for cooking, will do another lamb on the spit Sat night so something to sleep in, food for a few meals, some drinks and you should be set for the weekend.

Three weeks into trout season and I finally got an hours fishing in yesterday afternoon in between shooting a few bunnies.
Still a few fish about, managed to land 6 in an hour, had double that many hits that failed to hook up and kept 3 to eat.
Might be half a chance of a few blokes catching a feed this time if the weather and fish co-operate.

Or some bloody hill billy doesn't catch all the buggers before we get there. You are sposed to be feeding them up mate, not feeding yourself.
But they do look yummy, good to see a few around. Looking forward to giving them another go.

Its alright mate I released as many as I kept and failed to land another dozen or so, only fished a few hundred metres of creek so still about 3km I haven't had a look at yet.

Yeah, didn't land a rainbow yesterday, going to have another crack with the kids this arvo, might try a few different lures today, stuck with the one yesterday after I worked out what they wanted to hit. Did have one little rainbow jump and try and hit the lure as I lifted it from the water after I finished a retrieve. Watched him follow it but he wasn't interested until it left the water.
