Re: Big George
Thanks guys
The wife came and got me from work Friday afternoon after the Hospital had rung her.
When I arrived at the hospital he(Peter) was in a resus bed with doctors and nurses attending him.
His blood pressure was low and body temp low.
Bolus of fluids ,O2 didn't and warming his body really didn't improve his condition.
If I talked to him he would groan ,if I asked him to squeeze my hand he would with out opening his eyes.
One of my sister an I spent the afternoon with him in AE.
My other sister flew up from Sydney on the 1900 plane to be with us.
She finally got to spend some time with him.Presious.
After a move from the local Dubbo base hospital to Lourdes hospital via ambulance to a single room with less noise the old fell became relaxed.
He was in a good place with great care that respects life.
A bit more pain management and O2 via nasal prongs had him comfortable for his semi conscious state.
At around 0500 his breath became shallow and rapid.
At 0515, his old heart gave in.
Now he's with mum,who we lost to cancer back in 2007.
Rest in peace old fella ,you went peacefully .

Bugger.
sorry to hear about the old fella mate, but congratulations on the birthday. Your time with him before he left will be invaluable, I would never have forgiven myself if I didn't make it to my old man.
All the best, give us a yell if ya need a yarn.
