Well there ya go eh, not the first time someone has been attacked by a wild critter that they try and tame. A mate of mine up here had a herd of fallow he was farming, he copped a face full of horn one morning from his main stag, lucky he didnt lose an eye, but his nose and mouth were split a lot wider than normal.

I had a startled Chital stag charge during a stalk, not the one i was stalking, but one asleep in long undergrowth. Had i not shot it i am certain i would now be a corpse. For a supposedly slightly built and demure creature, Chital stags get reasonably big and can run like an alter boy. Sambar are way bigger so i could easily envisage a person being killed by one.
