500 fly testing

Post by chappo555 »

So my good friend rings me and asks if I want to do some 500 metre fly testing as we are both off to the Fed Cup fly in March and both of us have new rifles and neither of us have shot them at 500 metres.

What a great way to spend the morning. My best group was 2.25 inches using SMK 107g/29.5g-2208/Lapua/Rem7.5 /.0002 into the lands. Not bad off a portable bench and no flags.

I think I may be addicted to this long range stuff!!!

Heres a few photos anyway. First one is my mate with his Rem Mowhawk 600 in 6br. Second is a photo of our "range" (Man thats a looooong way!!!). Third one is my last group at about 3 inches, if you look real hard the 5th hole is at 12 o'clock in the black fly 10 ring.

Will see you at the Fed Cup.

cheers
