Speed Tests!

Hi All , I set up a video of me running a string so i could pick holes in the process after slowing it down frame by frame..I have recomended this for years to other shooters ,and finally took my own advice ..We used this process in the racecars so u can pick out one particular area to concentrate on viewing and when slowed up the detail shows itself in another light .. anyhoo , It was not the best of days as the camera played up limiting this to only 6 shots and i found the the bench moved all over the shop once the momentum of running the group got going ,things were a little slower than normal but not much..After some more testing with what i picked up i hope to get the string down to 23/25 seconds for the 10 shots reliably ,if i can get this i'll set up another vid and hopefully show an improvment....JR..Jeff Rogers

I have got 12 secs for 5 shots in running a .201 group at 100 during fireform, that day the mirage was bad enough to expand that towards .300 when other shooters had a go.. 1 group went .290 with 3 shooters firing 5 shots each and they had no flag/ shooting experiance at all ,i just gave it to 3 newcomers to have a shot(it was never adjusted for the 3 groups )..One guy said it wasnt shooting very well because he could not see the bullet holes as he went.. The last flat out run at 1000yds netted a 6.500ins 10 shot in some real crap conditions..JR.. Group on the vid was horrible at about .500 ,just a single line slot to windage as the portable bench moved side to side .

So you shoot this speed at 1000 when the condition holds? Just shows how good that thing tracks and your rest setup works, it all looks very repeatable.

Wish i knew what to cal ya ,stinkit does seem a little strange to me .. Yes if the conditions allow i run as fast as i can ..The smallest group i have in a regestered comp is in this pic ,i put an old ADI powder can for comparison ,would have hit it a 1K a fair few times i reckon.. Conditions that day were good but not that great to run the whole group ,from memory i ran 9 and paused and the flags flicked back just long enough for the last one ..JR

Nice Vid Jeff,

To give some perspective, Machine Gun Rogers puts all ten down range in the time it takes me to put 4 through my Rem 700 HG, makes it easy if you get a window in the conditions.
