It resists the torque action of the rifling, and helps with bag disruption when opening the bolt, as does the long bolt handle.

counterbalances the twist imparted against the rifle by the spinning bullet. Rilfling imparts twist to the pill, the pill tries to give it back, remember that old bloke with the 'for every action there is an equal and opposiite reaction" theory!!!

Only in the northern hemisphere

Actually you wouldnt because you would roll the gun in the bags unless it was a left bolt.

I think the weight of the extra stock works with the bullet/rifling effect. But the greater footprint it has stops it twisting in the bag when torque is applied to open the bolt.

i think

What is the twist ? 1:8 ?

8" twist
Pretty standard loads are working best, 107 sierras and 105 vlds lightly jammed with 29.6 gn 2208, been down to .125 at 100
going to try some 95 vlds
70 sierras with 32.5 2208 shoot about .3

Very nice, should shoot great, the offset barrel is to stop the rifle torquing in the bags when fired, every action causes a reaction-projectile spins one way and energy is transfered to the rifle in the opposite direction.

Regards Chris.
