suggestions from users please!

thinking of buying the forster benchrest seater without the micrometer (it will be set for one load and locked) but still the sliding sleeve as its $100 US cheaper than a redding comp seater.

Anyone disagree with that choice?

I've got the Redding FLS comp bushing die very good, as well as the forster for initial FLS for fireforming. I would have preferred the wilson seater and Sinclair micrometer top to the Redding comp seater, simply 'cause I'm use to it and prefer the wilson's simplicity. Headspace controlled during FLSing by Redding comp shellholders to less than 2 thou max. Just enough to have a bolt body, no firing pin assembly, flop closed on a resized case.

Either way the Redding dies produce great ammo, regardless of my preference/prejudice.

Loads, well in a Hall S action fitted with a 27" Maddco 1:8" barrel, I use CCI450 primers, AR2209, start around 37gns and load up from there, mine prefers 39.5gns 2209 with 107 Sierra's (moly'd) jammed into the lands. This does not fill the case enough for me so I will try AR2213SC later on.

The come ups when plugged into the sierra ballistics program indicated 3100fps out to 600yds.

As a foot note 36.5 gns of AR2206 and jammed sierra 70gn MK and old fed205's drove 8 shots into a .3moa hole at 100 during fireforming...........might make a GREAT varminter round

Remember decrease loads by 10% from my preferred load and go from there.......

I have a handfull Berger 95 VLDs
Some Berger 90 VLDs- box and half
and close to 100 Gary Little match VLDS - forget the weight 95, 97 something
if you want something to try out

I'm lazy, I want to go with a 105 or 107, hoping to here the different success stories and I want to just run up the powder to a sfae max load and go with that!

below is a list of 6mm bullets that a yank 6x47 shooter suggested, I did a cut 'n' paste but forgot his name but I think it was from BR central...........

"In no particular order.

Berger 108 BT Match
Sierra 107
Berger 105 BT Match
Hornady 105 Amax
Berger 105 VLD
Lapua 105

The two bullets I have been able to make work really well in every 6BR and 6X47 I have are the 107's and the Berger 105 VLD's.

I have NEVER been able to get Lapua 105 bullets to work in ANYthing, which stuns me... they are the most consistent bullets I've seen. Amax are hit and miss; as you know,

30 grains of Varget with Bergers and Sierras 15 thou in the lands, and if you aren't shooting bug holes, throw the gun away."

You will notice that 95gn bullets dont factor at all; its ALL about high BC and the resultant lower wind drift.............
