Alan Peake RIP

Alan Peake passed away yesterday afternoon at the Cooma Hospital after a battle with cancer.
Alan was well known in benchrest circles, and was a member of the benchrest Hall of Fame. He wrote the benchrest computer scoring program that has been used for many years, and represented Australia at most Benchrest World Championships between 1991 and 2001.
Alan also dabbled in Fly shooting, 1000 yard, F class, and other long range rifle competition.
He will be sorely missed.
Rest easy old mate,
Brendan Atkinson

Knew this wasn't far off...
Alan was a top bloke, and well liked by everybody. Was always more than willing to help people out or give advice when it came to shooting. One of the nicest guys I'd met. He will be missed.

A great loss for Australian Shooting Sports

Jimbo,
Yes he will be missed by more than a few.
Another great bloke taken by a disease that doesn't discriminate. Hopefully the conditions are lighter where he is

Many ranges held a one minute silence for Alan and some fired "the last shot".
I am designing a trophy that will be presented at each benchrest National Championships for the winner of the 200 yard sporter class event. This yardage was a favourite of Alan's and he held a few records at this range. I hope to present the first one at this Easter Nationals.
We will also hold a memorial shoot each year in SA for light varmint class at Para range.
