I have seen 6BRs and dashers go well in results and records lists quite a bit. I was thinking that this would most likely be when conditions are realy calm which will be suitable for setting records. a.JR, is this the case over there, that in calm weather they bring out the record setting popguns, but in the weather we usualy get, they bring out the big bangers?

AJR.. well said mate....
I think I just fell into the shooting style with machine gunning groups. I have never been one to shoot slow, and pick my shots. I believe that I am not the best reader of wind also.
With the accuracy the Dasher gives me, the way the rifle handles in a 17lb rifle it makes shooting quick easy. It is not really bad ballistically as well!
The big thing with machine gunning is knowing when to stop! When a change happens dont keep going!
As you wind and these little rifles, I dont think I have been at any disadvantage to bigger calibers in LG. I only need a window of 10-15 seconds in these conditions and I am done!
I have a big tempation to have chambered up a 28-30lb HG Dasher....
AJR.. do it.. chamber up a 6mm Dahser... you got to try one! Just one thing, you in't allowed to kick my arse with it!
Cheers

AJR... yes big caliber LG's will do very well, but the big thing is a muzzle brake is allowed in 1000yd lightgun. Here is the difference.
Since I only really shoot the Fly, which means no muzzle brakes, I will stick with the Dasher. I only get to 2 1000yds matches a year, and this does not warrant a rifle for it.
If I were to go with a LG and brake I would be straight onto a 300WSM.
You are also very right in chambering the rifles in teh same caliber. Makes it a lot easier when you know the caliber inside out. This is what has happened with the dahser with me, it is very predictable now since I have shot it enough!
How about a 17lb dasher with muzzle brake? That would be interesting
?
