Townsville 600 yard - 23 March

I couldn't stick around until the end, but some pretty impressive targets were shot today, with the main battle being between Tony Z and Eric G.
Eric hit first up with what may be a new record of 52 points and a sub 2 group, only for Toy to slip him by a point and similar sized group straight afterwards.
Albow should post the final figures soon; but for those coming up here for the Ironman, you'd better have your eyes uncrossed and trigger fingers itchy...

Well as outlined by Woob, today saw us shoot another 600yd match with seven shooters turning up which was a pretty good result for Easter Sunday.
Conditions for the day were rather difficult to get a handle on with no real consistency in a fairly stiff switching breeze although having said that a number of good targets were shot. The 7 mils seemed to have produced better results in with Eric G shooting a 1.960" group on his second target and Tony Z scoring 53 on his second target being the pick of them.
JR was the only HG shooting today recording a 196 for score and 2.845" group agg.
In LG there were six shooters consisting of five regulars and another first time shooter at the 600yd line. It was great to see Linda come out and have a go at the 600 and post a result anyone should be proud of for their first attempt, good job
The LG results for score were:
1st - Tony Z with 201
2nd - Eric G with 197
3rd - Albow with 196
4th - Linda with 168
5th - Woob with 153
6th - Jeff H with 148
LG results for group were:
1st - Eric G with 3.108" agg
2nd - Tony Z with 3.648" agg
3rd - Albow with 3.811" agg
4th - Linda with 8.883" agg
5th - Woob with 9.998" agg

Just as an update, given that we have now shot three 600yd matches for the year I have looked at the progressive six match aggs so far for group and score
For HG, so far JR is the only person to have enough targets to establish a 6 match agg which is currently 306 for score and 2.422" for group. This is slightly behind the results from last year so I am sure JR will be looking to try to resurrect this over the next few matches.
LG this year has seen some very good results and tough competition which is being reflected in the results. The six match score agg record from last season was 297 however so far this year three shooters have already bettered this result with Tony Z leading the way on 310, then myself at 304 and Eric G with 302. The six match group agg record of 3.143" from last season has also been bettered already this year with again Tony Z leading the pack on a 2.930" agg followed closely by myself on a 3.002" agg and third is Eric G with a 3.251" agg.
As the year rolls on I will continue to keep you updated on how the six match aggs are going after each match.

Just remember Eric's 7mmX62 has a barrel that's had around 3000 rounds through it; and he has new barrel ready to fit...
Ominous, isn't it??

Yeah, Eric is a top bloke, even for a Canuck, and he certainly has the knack.
