Hi Guys
Just had a few questions about clay target shooting as there are two clubs within 30 mins from me and would love to be a regular. Anyway. Does it matter what shottie you use? I have a IAC Lever action can I use this with just two cases loaded? or is it double or single barrel only? I know the IAC is hardly a competition gun but just want some fun. IF I get hooked I might look at getting something more competitive.
Anyway just thought I would ask.
Also anyone compete in field and game that looks fun too but nothing near me well that I know of yet. Would imagine most of the clay target guys will know.

Mate, i wouldn't bother taking the lever shottie, if your keen, just turn up without a gun & someone will lend you one. If they dont, well go elsewhere. I'd lend you one.

Thanks mate From reading it seems most places are happy to give you a shoot if you don't own anything yourself, might just throw it in the boot in case. Nothing like practice.

Yeh mate, every clay target club I have been too has been more than welcoming of new shooters. You will get a dozen people trying to loan you a gun, for sure will meet someone who is keen to show you the finer points etc. Just call in one day when they are shooting and introduce yourself as a potential new shooter - you will be fine.

I shoot at the Newcastle club out at toronto, not sure if that is one close to you or not, it is a fantastic club with really good facilities. There is a website but i can't seem to find it at the moment.
They shoot many types of clay targets and would only be too happy to help you out. They have practice on wednesday afternoons till dark as well as on the first saturday of every month up until 12 which is when comp starts.
You will have no problem getting hold of a shotty and i think the club also has some club guns.
If you want a ph number of some of the organisers of the club shoot me a PM and i will dig them up. Also if you are thinking of heading out there let me know and i can possible meet you out there if i am around.
Cheers
James
