It does not surprise me at all, I had some 142gn MK's, that were absolute SHOCKERS I only measured them base to ogive and the 30 thou mark was around the spread of them. Except one which was as I remember 70 thou longer than the shortest
After reading how the yanks rave on about them, I brought 300 'thinking myself a very smart fellow' and I would have the 'magic load' sorted in no time. yeeeeaaaaarhh right
I had a whinge to the shoppy I brought them off and asked if they were 'seconds' his reply was "nope, just a bulk pack that we divide up and sell off by the hundred"........

If you sort and batch them they will work fine.
Sort them by bearing surface, meplat trim them and then batch them into weights as well, this will sort them out fairly well.
A hundred may give you a few small batches but will be ok for testing.
I usually sort several hundred at a time.
cheers,
Shane

Dave,
Don't sweat it mate, I am sure they will be fine remember everyone else is in the same boat too
JR
All I can say is jazes your mate needs to get a hobby
For myself it's always a toss up between AMax and Scenars. They have both performed well for me
Shane and JR,
Can I ask you guys for your opinion on meplat trimming for short range work. I know the pills I currently use are crooked as... but still group really well, just wondering if you blokes have tried it

Kenny,
I dont shoot a lot of short range at the moment but when i finally do get into it more seriously i will most likely meplate for the more serious events.
Some would say you dont need it for short range but when every thou counts it carnt hurt.
As for long range, i found my scores became more consistant. There was no huge gain in accuracy but there was a gain and shoot to shoot i was more consistant.
Perhaps it was all in my mind???
But something worked!!
cheers,
Shane
