Short range benchrest stocks

Interested to hear who here uses some of the mainstream short range benchrest (6ppc 30br etc) rifles and what stock they have chosen and why. I’m looking at building something and have a few designs I like but not sure what works better. This won’t be for short range benchrest, rather for fly and 1kbr in 6 dasher and 308 ftr.

Dog Tracker or Tooley MBR about covers it Brad. Both similar but also different. Both run similar comb angle. Both are broken back which is a royal pain when cleaning but useful for keeping the head upright and in perfect line for the scope. The half inch barrel channel offset on the Dog Tracker is nice for heavier calibers in LG where it controls barrel torque by the extended lever principle. Outside of that the only consideration for me is the addition of a winged keel to further illiminate torque and sag in the rear bag. If doing a laminate, the addition of alloy laminates either side of the center laminates greatly increases rigidity of the stock without greatly increasing weight. By separating the alloy ribs to clear pillars and the trigger prevents the stocks integrity from being compromised. Simple inclusion but increases the stocks rigidity ten fold.

Darn well for you Tim! Gold medal good!
Just looking at something different mainly for ftr but also to suit the fly scene and lrbr. Trying to keep weight right down and still run a decent barrel. It’s all a juggling act I guess

I see now Brad. I have quite a few stocks floating around in new or used condition. All BR type that will never be used that you are welcome to. A few Mac Edges, SGYs and one of PVMs laminate but with the longer fore end to use in LR BR. Looks like the LJC but with a 3 inch longer fore end.
The two shown are a LJC HV @ 700 grams. I also have the LV version as well at 480 grams. SGY LV/HV @ 900 grams with stock weight in place. Around 750 without.
Also have a mate that has a Scoville that he detests and wishes to rid himself of.
