Nearly there

My 6br ackley all screwed together with holes inside the butt and slots milled under the barrel to scrape in under the weight.
Problem is the scope rail that came with it is too heavy as when I say scrape in I mean scrape in!
Luke doesn't reckon it will have the elevation to get to 1000 yd and is working on plan b c and d. Plan b is a set of rings, kelby I believe, that have the elevation in the rings. He is currently trying to source a set

Just machine the bases. It's not rocket science. 0.86mm over 115mm will give 20moa.

Looking slick Trevor. Have you considered adding the Southern Cross to the stock, would set it off nicely and avoid those other red, white, and blue comparisons.

Just drill out the last 12 inches or so of the barrel to 50 cal, should save some weight there.

She'll be right Trev, just keep drilling holes to loose the weight you need to (the stock). There's nothing wrong with living on the edge. Had to cut a lead weight in half at a World Cup once in Munich to get the rifle down to an acceptable weight. It was 5 grams under when I finished. Lol
Color scheme looks the goods to by the way.

Trev have you considered using Burris zee rings with the inserts that can fix that problem. I use them on a troublesome Omark 44 that has windage issues and they work a treat. Plus there is no ring mark's on the scope

If buying new rings I go these so easy to fix any windage or elvation issues, I first used them also on dodgy omark

He saw lots of opportunity to bugger up machining bases to get the same anle when they are over 100mm apart. He has sourced a lightweight base that comes in one piece so the angle can be machined in and then have it cut to make the two individual bases
