results as attached.
not a bad roll up at ND today for our 2nd official IBS 600yd BR Match.
as we only catered for just over 10 shooters, it was interesting to see the mathematics going into dividing 24 sausages into equal portions for 18 competitors and visitors. I think most went home still friends
seriously though, it was also interesting to hear the comments of some shooters ( TR,F Class and Fly shooters) who have never shot blind previously.
as someone said, "it certainly lifts the concentration factors" !!!
we have our next 1000yd BR in 4 weeks, we will see how many elect to shoot blind .
the positives, apart from the good numbers (this being a long weekend and some regulars were away)
* slide in slide out frames worked well- except they were shot around 6 times
* butts people did a great job
* 4 details flowed well
negatives
* scoring afterwards took much longer than anticipated - needs to be looked at and improved
* poor light and shadows prevented initial sighting in until around 9.30am
* sighting period also took extensive time, due to some having problems ?????
* overall match time seemed to drag on, needs to be more efficient.
A big POSITIVE was that the counselling, drug testing and inspirational speeches prior to the match, seemed to produce some pleasing results
Australian progressive results will be updated today.
cheers

Dave,
Great to see this off the ground finally. How many hours did we spend talking about how to get it started. Its a credit to you and the guys who have tried for so long to make it happen.
I see you sneaking in a pretty good result there as well .. the shark is circling again.

Hi Dave,
Looks as if a good time had by some. What was the class break down (H.G- L.G). We shall all have to try for sub 2" now.
Cheers,
Trevor.

Re: ND June 600yd BR
g'day dave
mate, I well remember during 2009, the time and effort and original idea you had in regard to trying to get IBS 600yd BR introduced into NSW.
As you would know, it was almost done and dusted, with Lyndhurst the likely original venue.
I also remember when we met and also attempted to work out the ideal position for the 600yd and 1000yd BR benchline on the Lyndhurst range.
But as is now pretty well known, unexpected problems prevented this idea and proposal eventuating.
I also well remember the motivation, interest and support yourself, macca, ajr, tz, al nielsen, trev armstrong, jeff harrison, jacko, mick easton and many others provided with the introduction and acceptance of the IBS 1000yd BR Postal Matches with the USA.
who will ever forget the infamous bastardisation of the Australian 1000yd BR Rules and the opposition to the continued support of and for IBS 1000yd BR matches within and across the NRAA.
thankfully commonsense, intelligent leadership and vision has recently witnessed the "new blood" in the NRAA executive approving and legislating without alteration IBS 600yd BR to the NRAA SSR's.
Australian LRBR has made many changes and positive progress, both domestically and internationally since 2009.
thanks again for your involvement, efforts and continued support !!!!
we all appreciate it.
cheers

Re: ND June 600yd BR
hi trev
all LG.
now that they know the rules and set up/match procedures etc (and that HG is only 5 shots) a few have mentioned they intend to shoot HG and LG at our next match.
I honestly cannot believe the interest so far at ND for the IBS 600yd BR. (thanks again to you blokes up north)
time will tell if this interest is maintained or not.
will phone you tomorrow.
cheers

Dave,
I'm going to have to protest the ongoing 600yd shoot in ND, it will make you blokes too hard to beat in the 1000yd SC. Great to see a good turnout, and some good groups. You better make sure you take 36 sausages next time.
Jeff
