First comp for years.

Post by trevort »

I told Dg that I would come to Narromine and have a crack but I chickened out last year. My wonderful wife suggested I get back into target shooting since I did enjoy it and again with Dave's assistance I have a 6br AI nearly completed.
Melbourne Benchrest club had their 300 mozzie today and since Kickinback and Ned Kelly were going I thought the excuse "waiting for my rifle" had worn thin. I had a crack with my 22x47l varmint rifle. Wind was coming at us with variable strength and very little right to left. What little there was was switching a tad.
No having made excuses I was pleased that all the 55 gn vmaxes made it to the target and 5 mozzies bit the dust. 5 qtr Moa clicks got me from 1 inch high at 100 to spot on at 300.

Apart from the cold the day was terrific. Target shooting is a hell of a lot of fun.

Looks like you mob had some fun, didn't seem to be many there. Ned wouldn't have had a cold chin, but the fella with him and Jacko sure looks like he could have done with another couple of layers on

who was the Neanderthal, beside you, Glen and Ned that is ??

G'day all,
apologies for having used a plastic stocked rifle at the range.......in my defence, I wanted to get a good 300m come up for the rifle after the lucky guess at elevation at the missedathon last year when smacking wabbits. Plus I've too busy doing other peoples stocks to make one for myself! Oh the shame.....!
Still Kicken and Trev shot very, very well for the conditions and the level of competition, well done guys. Next time I'll use some VLD's

There was one that needed that for nearly every round.

Jacko looking cold isn't a surprise, he looks cold where ever he turns up, watch out for him at Narromine this year, all you will be able to see is a beady pair of eyes and a twitching nose sniffing powder smoke, and he will still complain of the cold. Good target Trev, be good to catch up on the western plains later this year.
