Nothing wrong with the computer, just heaps wrong with the operator. Golf virus i think.
Firstly i would like to thank my friends Kenny Crowle and Dave Harrison for taking the time to talk to JR and myself about the FB bullets. Kennys' bullets in the 30 would have done a whole lot better if i had done a little more powder testing to avoid the vertical climbing during the fouling and sighting period. Re 22 was a poor choice in this combination and one good group does not make this a great rifle. The 162s measure and shoot great, but without the load being able to hold a POI right from the first shot, it is always going to be an uphill climb. Harrys' 85 grain Longranger in 6 mil shot out of my trusty old 6 BR held a terrific POI and elevation was sub 2 inch all day. The potential is there, but not at 3150 fps in the 6BR. In a calm day i would say that a very small group could be shot, but yesterday proved again to me what a few have been saying for some time now, head to head on the same day the 30 has an edge that cannot be denied. Same shooter on the same day shooting both calibers, and with the 30 not up to top level yet, the 6 mil that is able to drill holes was left behind. Sorry to burst your bubble AI. The future for the 85 grainer is at 3600 fps in my 6/284x1.75 barrel sometime soon.
Alan Neilson again showed just how good the 30/9.3x62 is going for him. The 175s he is using are doing great, but i do wonder how good the KC 162 might be at 3150 fps in the same cartridge. If he is real nice to me i might loan him 2 projectiles to try

The good news is that some time next year KC will be coming up to see Jeff and myself to talk about a new pointup die for the 30 that will be the same as the BIB. This is going to be great for all of us in the future as a locally made bullet made to the same specs and with help from Robinett himself will be a great boost for us all.
