Definitely be there.

Just in regard to the 1K on Sunday. There will be calls a couple of times during the Fly shoot on Saturday for people to pre-register for the 1k on Sunday. Please just put your name on the clipboard that will be left out.

We get a heap of people for it after every fly shoot, so have to arrange bench draws etc on the Saturday night so we aren't dicking around for half of Sunday morning trying to get everything sorted. People have been turned away before because they didn't sign up and we had too many other shooters to start re-shuffling everything 10 minutes before we were due to start shooting. Do yourself a favor, save yourself the disappointment by registering to shoot on the saturday.

Thanks.

I will be there...

Will try the 1000yd on Sunday if the Swede Improved is ready to go..

I suppose I could run the POPGUN at 1000yd if all else fails! How many rounds do I need for 1000yds?

Some of you buggers better turn up!!!!!

Cheers

Looks like the 6.5AI is becoming popular. Thats what I've been shooting for a while now. Know 2 other people who have gone to it in the last couple of months.

As for ammo, depends what class you decide to shoot. If you are just shooting LG, you need 5 rounds for each of the 2 record targets, plus ammo for your 6 min sighting in period. I bring about 30 rounds for light gun, and havent ever gone through them all. Heavy is 10 for each record target.

Dr G,

That would be the worst excuse I have ever heard ... you could always just tell the boss you was chasing ferals well off the property

Then you could claim the trip on tax as a work expense .. 8) 8) 8)

cheers

if Terv's going and I can scam a lift- maybe
but who knows I might be under the knife by then for the liver operation so cannot commit to anything more solid than the coffee thats brewing as I type.

Anyway a 6BR 1:10 twist sporter 8lb sporter with a 10X scope would be well out paced by all the mega $$ rigs there.

We recently secured a big swag of cash from the feds so their may well be a few work trips to Canberra for meetings, breifings and other bullshit. in the next couple of years

now if i could time one of these trips to coincide with say a fly shoot or something...

Its this sort of scheming that may see me out of a job if i am not careful

Sign me up for the 1000yds Mick!

Well I didnt know that the 6.5X55AI was getting popular!! What chambering did you use? I have a Tooley FL bushing die and the reamer to suit!

Steven.... by what name does this "KILLER" go by???

As for pasta Rinso.... the Dasher will need a real full belly of it and some pre-training!! Never shot at 1000yds, so I better have a go at sighting in for it too I guess! Time for the Ballsitics software!

Come on guys... this will be a good weekend to come watch! Fly Saturday and 1000yds on Sunday! Plus you get to meet a few of us!

Cheers

Guys, don't forget little ol' me. I'll be at Canberra, if not for practise on the Friday, I'll definately be attending the shoot on Saturday.
Did we ever get our "Aus Varmint" hats done?

well I'm not sure this is correct
on this page I put in mount waverly Vic to Canberra ACT and clicked shortest to give me a rough idea on how long it would take to drive.
This thing gives me 12+ hours- is that right
I remember driving to Sydney in about 10 so why the difference for shorter distance??

I also put in Mt waverly Albury and then hitch a ride with ACKIMP.
This drive map says 5:20 hours
Where if I plan the route by intercity rail it says 3.5 hours
How can there be such a time difference??

In actual time taken by those that have driven it recently- how long Melb to Canberra??

Melb to Albury??

THanks

Albury to Melb outskirts 2:30. 3 hours will have you well into Melbourne from Albury. Canberra is another 3 to 3.5 hours. So, 5.5 to 6 hours should see you there! I cant remember exact times even though I have driven it heaps!

I would love to give you a lift from Albury, but the single cab rodeo is full on the way to a comp. Must look at getting a new car asap!
