Gusty 40-60kmh breezes and the chance of rain kept a few away today, but those in attendance enjoyed
the conditions during the day.
Commonwealth Games Medallist Bob Dowling experiencing 1000yd BR for the 1st time
8am and overcast
12pm - pulsating breezes

It certainly adds fuel to the rumour that Narromine/Dubbo is the breeding ground of gales.
Looks like fun.

Jeff and Rod
it was one of those days where luck, guesswork and the detail draw played a large part in the results. not that it means much, but i have never experienced such violent conditions at 1000yds. at one stage it looked and sounded that the small frames that were supporting the target cradles were about to snap or be bounced out of the saddles.
during his 1st target, using the 308, young stuart tried to shoot in the apparent lulls (between the big gusts), but still needed around 10-18 foot target hold off allowances, except, unfortunately for his last shot which needed roughly an extra 2 foot.
as "luck" would have it for jim russ and myself in detail 2, the gusts were much less, which allowed more time to try and analyse the conditions between shots.
after changing from butts duty, detail 3 got absolutely "hammered" by the worst conditons of the day.
it seems that in this area, the "bathurst weekend" tends to be produce weird weather in most years.
cheers

Lovely day at the office. Tragic that we can look back later and think it was fun. Well done getting on the paper Dave.
Cheers
