Just reading another thread about justifying spending money on rifles and components it got me wondering what my small addiction has cost me.

Well, I got a little bit of a surprise to say the least... ready for this... 6 rifles have cost me $32605..

Thats no reloading gear or anything else.. just rifles. Its no good having money in the bank is it??? Oops... addiction yes... fun yes....

No more rifles for me.... EVER.... till next year maybe.....

FUCK.. this is a expensive past time....

Cheers

With scopes... custom action whore yes....

There is only one double up of rifles that I have.. my Dasher and soon to be 6.5X55AI. The 6.5X55AI will see 1000yds so maybe not overlapping totally.

The Lawton will be a varmint rifle, that will be capable of 500m Fly if needed (like if someone new is interested in having a go)

Speaking of saving money on haircuts... must be time for one.. side-ies will be causing wind resistance very soon!

Choosing a stock for the Lawton sucks............................

Reading this thread and just got to thinking which has raised a question. Do insurance companies cover firearms under home & contents? Just curious especially where the BR blokes are concrned 'cause theres some serious hard earned floating around out there!

Mate I went through this last week with my insurance company, they will insure them, but (there is always a but) it is a nightmare of paperwork. They are the safest thing in my house they should be the easiest thing to insure.

MODEl 70,

Yes most insurance companies will cover them but you usually need to supply some sort of written valuation from firearms dealer or gunsmith.

Rinso nailed it on the head. Need to provide receipts of the firearms, and you cover them by increasing your contents insurance. They are of course only insured at your home, not in the field etc.

Why not organise a 'firearms insurance policy' through the SSAA brokerage and get them done properly.

House & Contents, while it may cover them, will always be a hassle and any payment for the guns would be 'lost' in replacing other shit.

Keep them separate so you will have a separate cheque to spend in the gunshops!!

Or have you guys got so much tied up in guns you don't want to let the cat out of the bag with the little woman?? :?
