Townsville 1000yd Match - 13 May 2013

Hi All

With the typical Ironman weekend having to be run during the week this year, there were limited shooters who were able to travel here to shoot and even some of the locals were having difficulty getting days off work. As a result we ran a single day of 1000yd BR with four targets being shot in all classes as a double match. The first two targets for the day will be included in the postal with the US.

As far as the day went, there were some pretty challenging conditions and some new shooters. As these shooters had never shot this before, after deciding to give the 1000yd BR a go and it seems they may be back later this year on our double up weekends when we shoot 550 BR. Small group for the LG contingent went to Liz Wilson with a very respectable 5.947" which was pretty good in the rough afternoon conditions on her third ever target at 1000yd. Well done Liz and hope to see you and Murray back in the near future.
