Results from the Townsville match are up in the results section. Overall the day was challenging with very switchy changing conditions with the typical change that occurs at the commencement of the record period
Also updated are the rolling 6 match aggregates for the year. Of note is the great results that Tony Z has produced so far this year.
On the weekend his 48 point target helped him surpass the current Australian 6 match score aggregate record of 290.8 that he set in 2010 with his current total of 291.2. In addition I omitted to note that back in May he also bettered the current Australian 6 match group aggregate of 5.145" he set back in 2010 with his current result of 4.777".
Well done Tony and lets see what the next three matches produce
See you all next month when we double up on the 550 and 1000 again on the same weekend.
Thanks for that Alan.
You were too kind on the weather though. Words cannot describe a day where it is best described by saying "you had to be there". From Narromine where it was on or off from a fairly constant direction, to Townsville where we had everything and in the one relay. Wow. When JR shoots a 17, then i know it's going to be tough. The smart guys stayed home and ten of us dummies ventured out. The picture below says it all. Nonetheless a good first outing for the 7 mil.
Very impressive.
Congrats on the results for the whole year Tony and Jeff as well as the rest of the crew.
Is that stock offset?
Looking forward to the results once it gets run in
cheers
Hi Tony great result for sure -- you were correct when you said that you had to be there to appreciate the weather changes -- and for J R to get a 17 incher in the first round just tells you how tough it was --
but that was a great result for your L G's first outing --- what will we see in the future ---
as far as i was concerned i was very happy to get all my shots on paper

Hi all , Yes a tough day for sure , rang home before i left the range so the old girl could remove all the sharp knifes incase!.. Bit worried that now i will be only remembered for that one 17 incher. Might have to wait for next years championship event a Narromine to get any more good groups if this weather doesn't give up.. Probably global warming or just that HEX that wafts up here from south every now and again ..JR
Hi Grant. Yes an offset of 1/2 inch. This stock is one of the owners own design (Sharpshooter that does Team Savage stocks) where he has taken all the best features of the Tooley Offset and Shehane Tracker stocks. As it recoils the crosshair remains fixed on the target centre at all times and as it is slid forward it does the same. Surprisingly it behaves better with the 7 mil than what the Tooley does with the 6BR. The advantage there is of course being able to see strike or bullet swirl or as it says by the stocks name, Dogtracker, they can see the prairie dogs explode. Apparently this is a must for any serious prairie dogger This is his varmint stock that he uses himself and one which was never intended for LR BR. Sharpshooter will not send overseas and there is about a 12 month list for a stock. This one saw the world and took 18 months to get here. Cheap though. Under $500 landed drop in fit. I just fitted the winged keel.
