Hi All , Approx 7 of us from Nth Qld are going to central western NSW for a 1000 yd benchrest match Later this Year .. Question , is there anything that we need to know about transporting the rifles across the state that is specific to NSW .. We will be bringing some mildly competitive rifles and shooters , does that make any difference ??..JR.. Jeff Rogers.. Ps , hope to see all the real AUS Heavy GUNS there in July

When you cross the border stop at the first police station and leave your rifles with them, pick them up on the way home, should result in the winners comming from the southern states
Heres a couple of links to the relevant info on the NSW FAR site

Thanks 220 . Looks like it's not too hard to transport competition rifles .. Rinso , no probs about the regular Bibs as i think we will all be using the 210 Neverminds by then .. Average Joe's do not know what they are so i reckon we can use em in NSW in the short term .. If charles E's 2 inch 10shotter in recent times is any indication we will definitely be using them to buck those Southern breezes... Naturally it only requires the 6BR to do the job in any weather so the light guns will be OK .. Will be looking forward to the favorable conditions down there as the set we have now really sucks .. Good to get out of the 5 inch zone for a change ..JR..Jeff Rogers

We went through to SA a few years age and i emailed NSW SA and Vic weapons branches, the only requirements were have your licence and firearms details with you and the firearms secure in the vehicle and ammo and bolt separate to your weapon. But NSW was the only state that didnt reply to my emails
