I have just been advised that our old friend Wally Siebert passed away.

Wally is best known as a scope expert, and was the man largely responsible for the higher powered leupold scopes.
Many Aussie shooters will have a scope modified by Wally for higher magnification.

Wally was also a keen benchrest shooter and used to live in Victoria for the summer months and then return to the USA for thewir summer.

A true legend of the shooting sport, Wally will be sadly missed.

That is sad news. I contacted Wally a couple years back about a rifle chambered in 23/40 from memory. Little BR rifle. It was built by Wally for one of his friends here in Oz. He even sent me a couple old photos of the early BR years here in Oz.

That rifle is now with Pete VanMeurs... bit of history in that rifle.

If it is the one that I am thinking of, he brought that rifle to Adelaide in 1977 and won the HV Nationals with it. Interesting cartridge.

As you get older this sort of news starts to occur too often.
A loss to shooting in general.
