Yesterday, Saturday 7th, the Goulburn Rifle Club went live with the OzScore Electronic Target System (www.ozscore.com.au)
Geoff Roberts and his crew arrived at the range at 9.30 am, and commenced to install the Target and the Target Computer. The target frame was pre-fabricated by Geoff's team as a custom fit for our existing target carriers. All of the work necessary at the Butts was completed in 3 hours, including the battery pack and solar charger and testing of the equipment.
So it was down to the 400 yard line for our regular Club shoot. The Master Mound Display Unit (MDU), and two additional MDU's were deployed, the battery connected and some basic instruction for the first three shooters (yes three) given by Geoff, and within 30 minutes live fire commenced.
The system worked from the very first shot. We had 3 concurrent shooters firing on a single electronic target. Apart from some minor tweeking with the position of the "shot detector" in front of one shooter, the system performed extreamly well.
In fact, one of our members shot above his personal best, and two new members having their first F Class shoot, were thrilled to score in the high 50's ( one shot a 60.7).
Credit must go to Geoff and his crew for his customer service and his willingness to to work with the Club to plan ahead for the installation.
The Club acknowledges the significant financial Grant provided by the NSW Government's Dept. Sport and Recreation for this project.

Gidday bobeager, It's great to hear Goulburn up and running. I read about the range in the SSAA magazine.
Is it possible you guys may run a 500m Fly shoot one day?
Cheers Malcolm

Re: F Class on Elecronic targets at Goulburn
Malcome, Sean.
Goulburn is a multi-user range. The fullbore rifle club shoots every Saturday arvo from 12.30pm. We are almost exclusively F Class these days. We are the club with the E Targets. The rifle club also has Fridays available for practice, testing and maintenance.
SSAA has a fixed firing point with bench rests with target frames at 50 and 100 yards. They also have use of two target machines at 300 yards that were previously used by the rifle club.
So no chance of a 500 fly, but I guess a limited 300 yards is possible. SSAA meets at the range on the 2nd saturday at 9.30am and the 4th Sunday at 1.30pm.
The Pistol Club and Clay Target Club have excellent facilities.
The range is often booked during the week by Police, Customs, Protective and Corrective services. Only ONE user group is allowed on range at any one time.
