Thanks Malcolm .. congratulations on your own performance and 3rd placing, well done

Yes it was a good weekend and more to come.
Fly shoots & Fox shoots are scheduled throughout the year.
All welcome, camping at the range is an option, you dont have to have a target rifle, just a rifle and we will get you shooting.

Commendations to Anthony for running a very efficient match and for taking time to get the match running again. Commendations also to all that worked behind the scenes i.e women that made the cakes and catering-also to the scorer and target crews.

It was a sensational weekend.

Well done to all the place getters Ian, Les, Mal, Pete VM, John Mc and commendations to Rinso for having shot smallest group (now he has something to frame or put on his beer fridge).

I am certainly looking forward to the next shoot.

Regards

Congrats to all the place getters. Good to see only a couple of fly's separating the top two in HG. Interesting overall small group going to the light, well done Rinso and is that John McQuire the traveling fly shooter :D good effort mate on high score for light.

Rinso did you shoot the same rifle in heavy and light?

Will have to get down to batesmans bay for a shoot.

I shot my 300WM in heavy but suffered on the E target(as did anyone on detail 3) with the sun setting into my scope. This unfortunately cost me a lot of points as the later targets presented some of the better conditions eg the small group shot on the E target in detail 2 just before the sun hit the scope faces ... thats how it goes though.
The small group was shot with my 260AI Light gun and is a pending national record for LG at 1.2380 inches, the previous best being 1.24 by Chris Rigby about 10 years ago. I shot small group at the Federal Cup in Canberra last March with the same rifle, that group measured 1.5 something.
Yes that was the wandering Queenslander, he sure gets around and a good bloke to boot.

A thought just hit me---------- now that Rinso has moved, does this mean that the "Bay" will be your regular rifle range? If this is so, we shooters are going to have work awfully just to keep up!!!!!!!

Malcolm,

As I am 30 minutes from the range at Batemans Bay ... yes thats where I shoot these days. No more 3 hr drives to get to a range with proper benches ... 8) 8) 8)

Once again great effort and congrats for the record books, good to see a 6.5 shooting well against all tho's 6mm, 270's and 30's lol

Can I ask what pills your using Rinso?

Yes the wandering Queenslander is a good bloke and always good to talk to.

Thank you all for the kind words -- i try to fly the 6.5 flag as best i can -- it has been called many things and is refered to as a popgun by the north queenslanders ( uses less than 50gn powder ) but it has done the job on a few occasions good to see a few other people using 6.5 s i hope i can travel south again this year to shoot more fly shoots
