Whats everyones thoughts on the PSECO rifles.
I am looking a their heavy rimfire rifle.
To me they seem to be put together well. A Stiller stainless steal action, Jewell 2 oz trigger Kelbly rings, Supply inlet and bed action to McMillian Edge stock, and supply fit and chamber Lilja 4 groove tight stanless barrel.
Is anyone else using one or know of any getting about. The only other thing i will do is get Cookie to thread the end of the barrel and put one of is turners on it.
Thoughts??

I am guessing that will be a very long wait.
From the Stiller website
"We have 3 versions. The Lonestar is a single shot action that fits into a Remington short pattern stock. It has a PTG 40X replacement bolt. The 25X is our repeater version and uses a similar bolt built to our specs. The Copperhead is our true benchrest action with dual firing pins, Anschutz style loading ramp, center lug and a unique shroud/firing pin system for perfect alignment. IF you want the best rimfire, this is it. Pics and more information will follow. The Lonestars will be delivered the end of October, 25X in December and Copperheads about the same."
I understand the waiting list is quite long to get a Stiller I know somebody who has had one on order for 2 years, but give John a call and see what he says I would love to see one in person.
Regards Brett

John was sayn the wait will be about 6 months. And seen as the dollar is so strong they are pretty well priced. So the copperhead is the pick of the actions. I gota ring him tuesday ive only spoken to him by email. So brett them seem to be put together well are they. I dont hear of many around the shoots. Whys that??

PESCO makes rifles ... not quickly and money upfront unless things have changed.
You dont always get what you ask for ie A centrefire LR BR build to be a screwdown NOT a glue-in.
Rifle turns up glued-in ???? Also has a chunk out of the inbuilt rail (most likely from the action being dropped, not mentioned and no price reduction)
The rifle shoots reasonably but not great and the same shooter has won several major matches with his LG but this HG wont place in a match????
That said my HG action is a PESCO Sleeved Rem and has won plenty.
I would say get a few other smiths to give a price and time. CPR or Brett33 or Clancy's or Pro-Cal would all be obvious options for inquiry.

I have spoken to John a little, almost got a stiller python through him but talking about building rifles was not what I would call a good experience. IF he didn't have exp with a cartridge then he wouldn't do it and tried to talk me into other stuff. I have spoken to 4 other smiths including shane, their is a reason shane is so busy not just because he is good but he listen's to YOU!, makes constructive points about options etc was a real pleasure. I have had the same with another smith who is closer which is a nice change.

Apparently after talking around the traps some of Johns stuff is very nice but customer service is well .....

Chris Tyne is correct, I am not certain but believe there are about 6 Copperheads in the USA in use as prototypes and 1 has done OK. When they become available Stiller will service the American market first I believe.
As suggested there are other options and with the Dollar so good there are custom actions comming into the country at reasonable prices at the moment.

Yep dont get your hopes up about the stiller actions being available anytime soon,a bloke was talking about bring 10 or so of the 25x's a couple of years ago and dont think anyone has seen one of them yet.
As Brett has said they will have sheeeet loads of domestic orders to fill before they are available here.................dont hold your breath for one.
Hey Damien what do you reckon Mitchells rifle would be worth....................................also how many blokes do you know could shoot it like Mitchell does?

Chris,
It would be worth whatever someone was willing to pay for it !
As to shooting it, well that's my point exactly I'n my last post, give him any gun and he will do well, but give his gun to others and see what happens !!
He don't need a custom gun !!

My original Traditional rifle was built by Pseco,was/is nothing wrong with it...........................................not sure what to tell you actually,I have seen a couple of people wait a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time for their rifles to be built but I think they knew of the wait before the work commenced.
Chris why not get Cookie to do the job from start to finish?

Regards Chris.
